it's been a while since i've checked xanga. good to see that people are still updating and expressing themselves.

recently i've been on a journey to find what sort of medic i'll be. i've liked the preciseness of surgery. it's clear-cut, to the point and i think i get a high on the pressure. which type? right now, General Surgery (liver, stomach, pancreas. that sort of jazz) seems to be my thing.

i'm currently planning my elective and hope to be in india for 4-5 weeks, and then HK for 1 week march 2009. so if you're in HK then i'll be seeing you

peace and love,

kav

cheers for this -->

Philosophy of the stock market!

Once upon a time, in a village a man appeared who announced to the
villagers that he would buy monkeys for $ 10. The villagers seeing that
there were many monkeys went out in the forest and started catching them.

The man bought thousands at 10 and as supply started to diminish and
villagers started to stop their effort he announced that now he would buy
at 20 dollars. This renewed the efforts of the villagers and they started
catching moneys again. Soon the supply diminished even further and people
started going back to their farms.

The offer rate increased to 25 and the supply of monkeys became so that it
was an effort to even see a monkey let alone catch it.

The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at 50! However, since he
had to go to the city on some business his assistant would now buy on
behalf of the man.

In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers. Look at all
these monkeys in the big cage that the man has collected. I will sell them
to you at 35 and when the man comes back, you can sell it to him for 50.

The villager squeezed up with all their saving to buy the monkeys.

Then they never saw the man nor his assistant, only monkeys everywhere!

"...Spends his time alone in the basement
With lennon and cobain and
A guitar and a stereo..."

So I’m in my 5th year of university now; less than 2 years left.

How does one measure how successful they’ve been? How do you?

How do you say whether the last 5 years have been worth it .I would like to think I wouldn’t change anything. But, it’s only a thought.

I’m worked pretty hard at medicine the last year. I guess it’s my dream I’m fulfilling. It’s been good and Warwick is a lovely change to London. I’ve also reduced the number of projects I’m taking part in (just sign language and rock climbing now).

So what did I achieve at ucl? I did lots. Things I will always remember; many good things and some not. But I feel the older I get, the less any of anything I did then matters. I know I think about things more than a lot of people, and I’ve done my duty to not make the same mistakes. Saying this, when it was good, if was damn good. I’m stating the obvious and opinions of what is good and bad change, but maybe I didn’t expect to go through so many phases in 5 years.

It’s an interesting thought on “the best years of your life”.

So who am I now? Beard-growing, glasses-wearing, piercing-loving, chav-look-a-like no.1 medical student at Warwick. It beggars belief. But maybe, I now know why I found my last year here the most worthwhile. Freedom. J

ben harper & pearl jam - throw your arms around me (hunters and collectors cover)

I will come to you in the daytime
I will raise you from your sleep
I will kiss you in four places
As I go runnin' down your street

I will squeeze the life right out of you
I will make you laugh, and make you cry
And we may never forget it
As I make you call my name as you shout it to the blue, summer sky

And we may never meet again
So shed your skin lets get started
And you will throw your arms around me
And you will throw your arms around me

I will come to you at nightime
I will climb into your bed
I will kiss you in 195 places
As I go swim around in your head

I will squeeze the life right out of you
I will make you laugh, I'll make you cry
And we may never forget it
As I make you call my name as you shout it to the blue, summer sky

And we may never meet again
So shed your skin lets get started
And you will throw your arms around me
And you will throw your arms around me

Ohh yeah, uh huh, uh huh...
Ohh yeah, uh hum, ooh...
Ohh yeah, uh huh, uh huh...
Oh...and you will throw your arms around me...
